SPACE’s 2012 rehabilitation initiatives are designed to enhance the daily experiences of residents and visitors at SPACE. Your generous donation to SPACE’s registry will help us to build a dock, put canoes on Peach Lake, renovate our bathrooms, construct outdoor desks, and purchase a spacious tent for artists to work in, no matter the weather!
Build a Dock - With the guidance of an expert foreman, and the assistance of a hearty team of SPACE artists, a beautiful dock will be built on Peach Lake! The dock will allow residents to swim, go boating, or simply enjoy a contemplative sit over the water. The only thing we’re missing is the materials, and that's where you come in! We need $5,000 to purchase the wood, nails, and other supplies needed for the dock of our dreams, and your gift can help us make it a reality!
Put Canoes on Peach Lake - Once we’ve built our dock, we want to give residents the opportunity for recreation and reflection out on the beautiful Peach Lake. A donation of $600 will cover the purchase, shipping and tax for one canoe! An additional gift of $100 will go toward oars and life-jackets.
Purchase a Tent- The grounds of SPACE are beautiful and expansive, but the elements can often be a bit overpowering. Help us create a sheltered area for our artists to work in! A gift of $3,000 will cover the purchase, shipping and tax for a 20' x20' tent under which our residents can work productively, come rain or come shine.
Construct Outdoor Desks - Part of the joy for writers at SPACE is the ability to be outdoors as they work, deep in the privacy and solitude of SPACE’s majestic grounds. A gift of $150 will provide materials and manpower to build an outdoor desk in a special corner of the property. With your help, our goal is to have six outdoor desks ready for the 2012 season. For $900, you can finance all of them!
Renovate Our Bathrooms - Last year, we renovated the bathroom in the Corncrib, and the results were beautiful. This year, our goal is to make the same such upgrades to the two bathrooms in the Sycamores, thus improving the experience for all who visit the farm year-round! The combined cost for the bathrooms is $3,000, and every bit helps!
