Applications for 2014 Artistic Residencies are closed.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
SPACE on Ryder Farm's non-profit residency and retreat season runs each year from June through October.
Artistic residencies provide artists the opportunity to create away from the bustle of everyday life and in the company of other artists. Residencies are grounded in three farm-fresh meals per day. Artists have flexibility and are strongly encouraged to structure their days to best suit the needs of their project. Artistic residencies culminate in informal sharings of what each resident has worked on during their time at SPACE.
Artistic residencies are granted to individuals and groups in harmony with SPACE's mission. Priority in SPACE's selection process is given to applications that include detailed and distinctive goals for the time to be spent at SPACE.
All artistic residencies are subsidized. Residents pay a minimal daily fee of $40 to offset the cost of their stay. Additionally, residents cover their travel to and from the farm. A round-trip off-peak ticket from Grand Central Station to Brewster Station is $26.50. There are some fully-subsidized artistic residencies available upon invitation.
Applications will only be accepted electronically and must be received by 11:59PM on March 8, 2014.
Not all accepted applicants go through an interview process. If we feel your application requires further discussion, we will invite you to interview in April.
All applicants will be notified of their selection status by email by May 15, 2014.
